Gradina Martinici

In the locality known as Martinici, near Danilovgrad, there are remnants of the court of Serbian Prince Mutimir Vlastimirovic who ruled in the 9th century. Gradina was a prominent seat also during the period of the Nemanjic Dynasty , and it is believed to be the birthplace of Rastko Nemanjic (better known as Saint Sava), son of Grand Zupan (clan leader) Stefan Nemanja, and the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
